People working in establishments dealing with the supply and service of liquor in Queensland are required by law to have a current Responsible Service of Alcohol – RSA QLD Certificate delivered by a training provider accredited by the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation. The RSA QLD Certificate is meant to provide staff members involved in hospitality with the necessary knowledge and skills in the conduct of their duties. This is to ensure a safe environment for customers, to make staff members aware of their legal responsibilities and also to prevent any potentially harmful situations resulting from intoxication.


Where Can I Get an RSA Certificate in QLD?

There are several training providers in the Queensland area who are accredited to provide the RSA Certificate training. Each state has its own requirements regarding RSA, so it is important for you to check this before going through any RSA course.

It is compulsory for all personnel working on licensed premises to obtain a current RSA QLD Certificate in order to serve, supply or sell alcohol. This includes, but is not limited to:

When Should I Get an RSA Certificate in QLD?

As of January 1, 2009, Queensland laws require employees to obtain an RSA Certificate within 30 days of starting employment. An RSA QLD Certificate is valid for 3 years, after which you will have to undergo a new RSA training course.

    Hi Bonnie, As long as your NSW RSA is still valid then you just have to complete the RSA Bridging course in Queensland. There are lots of training providers who offer the bridging course so just type ‘RSA Qld bridging course’ into Google and track down a company.
